Welcome to the Medical Physics course (Física Médica I) 2Q/2023, presented by Prof Dr. John A. Sims.
The objective of this course is to present the fundamental physics involved in the generation and utilization of:
(i) ionizing radiation, namely X-rays and radiation produced from the decay of radioisotopes;
(ii) ultrasound;
The focus of the course is on healthcare applications, although the techniques can be applied generally to other areas of technology and engineering.
